¿Cómo era eso de las lentejas?
¡Ah, sí! Que si quieres las comes y si no, las dejas.
Pues este refrán no sé si también se aplicará a estas lentejas rojas, pero si es así, ya os digo yo que no vais a dejar ni una gota!!
Reconozco que si te dicen «sopa de lentejas» por muy rojas que sean, seguramente no te lo pienses ni un momento antes de rechazarlo. Peeeero, y si te digo que es una «sopa tailandesa de lentejas«, seguramente la cosa cambie ¿no?
¿Qué no?
Anda, alma de cántaro, pero ¿cómo no te va a gustar? No ves que es tailandesa, y todo lo que sea oriental está de moda, y vas a ser el más guay de tu barrio!!!
¿Sigo sin convencerte?
Y si además te digo que la receta original es de Yotam Ottolenghi, que es un chef que hace cosas muy ricas, y que todas las recetas que he preparado suyas son un éxito seguro ¿tampoco te convenzo?
Eres duro de roer ¿eh?
Bueno ¿y si te digo que en casa, que solo les gustan las lentejas con chorizo, me han hecho la ola cuando han probado esta sopa?
Ahora sí eh!!
Si es que no hay nada como las pruebas realizadas en casa para asegurarnos de que el plato es un éxito!! Aunque la verdad es que en casa no están tan contentos con esto de ser probadores oficiales…jejeje.
La receta original seguro que es fantástica, pero incluye ingredientes que para mí son complicados de conseguir, así que he hecho una adaptación , intentando respetar la receta original, eso sí.
Veréis que la receta incluye la preparación de una aceite aromatizado, que si bien no es imprescindible, le da un toque delicioso a la sopa, y como además os sobrará bastante, podéis aprovechar para aliñar verduras y carnes a la plancha….o todo aquello que se os ocurra (no, lo de comérselo a cucharadas creo que no es una buena opción…)
Preparación:
Comenzamos preparando el aceite aromatizado. Para ello ponemos a calentar en una sartén un par de cucharadas de aceite.
Añadimos la cebolla, el ajo cortado en trozos gruesos, el jengibre, la guindilla, el anís estrellado y el curry y sofreímos a fuego suave durante 5 minutos, removiendo de vez en cuando, hasta que la cebolla esté blandita.
Cuando la cebolla esté lista añadimos el concentrado de tomate y cocemos un par de minutos más.
Añadimos la ralladura de limón y el resto del aceite y dejamos cocer a fuego muy lento durante 30 minutos.
Transcurrido este tiempo apartamos del fuego y dejamos enfriar.
Una vez frío colamos el aceite por un colador (podemos cubrirlo con una gasa para que quede más fino).
Reservamos hasta el momento de servir la sopa.
Continuamos preparando la sopa de lentejas.
Ponemos al fuego una cazuela con el aceite y calentamos a fuego suave.
Añadimos la cebolla y el puerro troceados y sofreímos durante 10 ó 15 minutos hasta que ambos estén tiernos.
Cuando estén listos añadimos las lentejas y el curry y removemos bien durante un par de minutos para que se sofrían ligeramente.
Añadimos 1 litro de agua, subimos el fuego hasta que el agua comience a hervir y a continuación lo bajamos a fuego lento (pero sin que deje de hervir) y cocemos durante 20 ó 25 minutos (o hasta que las lentejas estén tiernas).
Una vez que tengamos listas las lentejas retiramos la cazuela del fuego y trituramos con una batidora hasta obtener una crema bien fina. En este punto podemos añadir más agua si lo consideramos necesario (depende de si queremos una textura más cremosa o más ligera).
Podemos pasar la sopa por un chino para que nos quede aún más fina.
Una vez que esté bien triturada añadimos la leche de coco, el zumo y la ralladura de la lima, la salsa de soja y sal al gusto y removemos para que todo se integre bien.
Servimos bien caliente con el cilantro, el queso de cabra y 1/2 cucharadita del aceite aromatizado en cada plato.
