Lo mío con las plantas es matador.
Literalmente.
Coñe, que se me ha muerto hasta un cactus!!! Y mira que es difícil.
Mi abuela y mi suegra, no entienden como se puede ser tan sumamente zoquete como para matar una cantidad tan grandísima de plantas, y cada poco intentan meterme en vereda de manera muy sutil:
-Mira hija, te he plantado un esqueje del cóleo, que a éste no le tienes que hacer nada de nada. Riégalo de vez en cuando y ya está.
Sí, sí, qué fácil….
Yo de verdad que llego a casa con la mejor intención del mundo. Pongo mi macetita preciosa en el rincón más lucidito de mi casa, que le de el sol, pero no mucho calor, uy! mejor aquí que está más fresquito.
Eso es.
Hala, voy a regarla….
Al segundo día, voy a ver cómo está, si le hace falta agua, incluso miro si tiene alguna hojita seca y se la quito…
Y ya está.
A partir del tercer día se me olvida que tengo una planta…hasta que mis jardineras de cabecera (léase mi abuela y mi suegra) vienen por casa y, tras echarme un mirada asesina me riegan la plantita y le quitan las hojitas secas, que ahora son muchas…
Así que, tras la visita y la regañina por dejar morir una planta tan agradecida, hago acto de contrición y me propongo regar mi plantita todos los días.
El problema es que mi chico decide exactamente lo mismo, y cada vez que pasamos cerca de ella la regamos…con lo que a la semana se nos ha muerto la planta, pero por exceso de agua!!!
Así que he decidido que me voy a quedar sólo con las plantas aromáticas, y así, cuando vea que se están secando, al menos puedo aprovechar las hojas para cocinar.
Y como llevo unos días viendo la menta un poco mustia, he decidido preparar este delicioso mojito de fresa y así no me siento tan culpable por haber terminado con él (creo que los efectos del ron también ayudan con el sentimiento de culpa…ejem).
¡Hala, vamos al lío! Que no me diréis que esta «receta» no es perfecta para que la despedida del verano y las vacaciones sea menos dura ¿no?
Preparación:
Comenzamos cortando las limas en cuartos a la larga y ponemos 3 trozos por cada vaso.
A continuación añadimos a cada vaso 2 cucharadas de azúcar, y, ayudándonos de, por ejemplo, el mazo de un mortero, machacamos todo para sacar el zumo de las limas y que se mezcle con el azúcar.
Lavamos las fresas, le quitamos el rabito, las repartimos en los vasos y de nuevo aplastamos con el mazo, esta vez con más cuidado de no destrozarlas demasiado.
Repartimos el hielo entre los vasos, llegando hasta casi el borde de los vasos y añadimos las hojas de menta, excepto 4 que reservaremos para decorar.
Repartimos el ron en los vasos y a continuación llenamos los vasos con la soda o gaseosa.
Mezclamos con cuidado y decoramos con las hojitas de menta reservadas…
Y a disfrutar!!!
Notas:
Usaremos preferiblemente vasos con boca ancha para que nos entre bien el mazo del mortero que utilizamos para aplastar las limas.
Podemos sustituir las fresas por cualquier otro fruto rojo.
Aunque en la receta original utilizan ron blanco, yo he utilizado ron dorado. Podéis utilizar el que prefiráis.
