Hay momentos en los que tenemos que tomar una decisión clara y firme, por duro que parezca.
La otra tarde, sin ir más lejos, tuve que enfrentarme a una dura elección y os aseguro que no tenía nada clara la opción a elegir:
O bien planchar la montaña de ropa que me lleva poniendo ojitos más de 15 días, y ante cuyos cantos de sirena he sido capaz de resistirme firmemente… o darme un baño.
Sí, un baño, como los de las películas, con mucha espuma, música suave de fondo, un buen libro y una copa de vino para rematar.
Os podéis imaginar qué opción elegí ¿no?
Por si no lo sospecháis, sólo os diré que la montaña de ropa para planchar ya es un palmo más alta…
Bueno, pues la operación baño de espuma empezó bien.
Llené la bañera y le eché jabón para que hiciese espumita.
El libro que me iba a leer lo tenía claro.
La música ambiental decidida.
Hasta ahí todo correcto.
El tema vino…ahí la cosa empezó a complicarse.
Y es que el único vino que encontré en casa fue el vino blanco de tetra-brick que uso para cocinar.
Y eso pues glamour cero.
Venga, lo solucionamos con un refresco. No es lo mismo, pero oye, con tanta burbujita igual me monto un jacuzzi.
Y la verdad es que a partir de ahí la cosa empezó a empeorar.
Me metí en la bañera ¡y por poco me abraso los pies!!! ¡¡El agua estaba hirviendo!! Claro, me empeñé en echar el agua bien calentita, para que no se me enfriara rápido, y no caí en la cuenta de que el agua era para meterme yo en ella, no para escaldar pollos!!!
Pero bueno, no hay problema, me fui metiendo poquito a poco y después de 5 minutos conseguí meterme en la bañera por completo (culete incluido, que después de eso lo he tenido colorao´ una semana!!).
El libro sí lo tenía claro, ese que llevaba más de un mes con ganas de empezar a leer y para lo que nunca encontraba el momento.
Pero claro, no caí en un pequeño detalle… Una edición de 893 páginas no es la mejor opción para leer en la bañera, con los brazos en tensión constante para que el agua no salpique las hojas y sin poder apoyarlos en ningún sitio, porque como el librito viene en tamaño biblia, en cuanto te pones cómoda, la parte de abajo del libro se te mete en el agua…
Eso sí, ejercicio en el agua os puedo asegurar que sí que hice…
El tema de la música iba muy bien, hasta que en la lista de spootify que seleccioné con música relajante se me coló, sin venir a cuento, una pieza de heavy-metal que, como me pilló de improviso, me dejó taquicárdica perdida para el resto del día!!!
Ahí es cuando me empecé a dar cuenta de que lo del baño no estaba siendo tan buena idea como parecía al principio (no se sí soy una optimista nata o un poco lela, pero ya veis que tardé en darme cuenta…).
¡Pero el remate fue cuando sonó el teléfono!
No el móvil que tienes a tu ladito, no. ¡¡El fijo que está a la otra punta de la casa!!
Al principio decidí no cogerlo, total si ese número no lo tiene casi nadie, pero oye, que una se ha criado con teléfono fijo en casa y no puede evitar la sensación de que si suena puede ser importante.
Así que después de salir de la bañera, poner todo perdido por las prisas, casi-matarme por el pasillo por culpa de un resbalón traicionero y llegar al salón cuando el teléfono estaba a punto de dejar de sonar, lo descolgué para descubrir a una amable señorita que me ofrecía una oferta para mi conexión a internet con una nueva compañía que no podía rechazar…(pues claro maja, quién te esperabas que llamase!?).
Así que, después de colgarle muy amablemente a la señorita, decidí que el baño relajante no había sido una buena idea, y que la próxima vez que quiera relajarme, me meto en la cocina y preparo esta deliciosa crema de alcachofas, que además de estar buenísima es súper sana!!
¡Y eso sí que me relaja!!
Es un plato muy sencillo de preparar, en el que la única complicación que podéis encontrar es limpiar las alcachofas, pero voy a intentar convenceros de que no es tan difícil como aparenta, y el sabor de la crema es tan delicioso, que compensa lo entretenido de limpiarlas.
Por no hablar del toque tan estupendo que le daremos a la crema con unos chips de jamón, que no es otra cosa que trocitos de jamón crujiente que prepararemos en un momento en el microondas.
¡A por la receta!
Preparación:
Comenzamos limpiando las alcachofas.
Para ello tendremos preparado un bol con agua al que añadiremos el zumo de un limón y también el limón una vez exprimido, para sumergir en él las alcachofas en cuanto las limpiemos, ya que se oxidan con rapidez.
Empezamos quitando las hojas exteriores, que son las más duras, hasta que veamos que las hojas van teniendo un color muchos más claro y son mucho más tiernas.
Cortamos la parte superior de las hojas, que también es muy dura, y, a continuación, cortamos el rabo. En este caso, como vamos a preparar una crema, aprovecharemos también el rabo de la alcachofa, simplemente tenemos que pelarlo y cortarle el extremo, que estará más feo.
Con un cuchillo bien afilado retiramos los restos de las hojas más duras que hayan quedado en la base de la alcachofa. Lo «pelaremos» del mismo modo que si pelásemos una manzana.
Una vez que hayamos pelado la alcachofa, y dependiendo del uso que vayamos a darle, las podemos dejar enteras o bien partirlas a la mitad longitudinalmente.Yo suelo cortarlas al medio, y, ayudándome de un sacabolas (el que se usa para hacer bolitas de melón) le retiro la pelusilla que suele tener la alcachofa en el corazón.
Una vez limpia la sumergimos inmediatamente en el agua con limón para que no se oxide hasta el momento de cocinarlas.
Para preparar la crema de alcachofas comenzamos cubriendo el fondo de una cazuela (u olla rápida) con aceite de oliva y ponemos a calentar a fuego suave. Cortamos la cebolla, no es necesario que sean trozos muy pequeños ya que luego vamos a triturarlo todo, y la sofreimos unos minutos.
Cuando esté ligeramente doradita añadimos las alcachofas, el agua y la sal y cocemos hasta que las alcachofas estén tiernas, unos 30 minutos en cazuela tradicional y 15 minutos en olla rápida.
Transcurrido este tiempo comprobamos que las alcachofas estén tiernas y si no fuese así las dejamos cocer un ratito más.
Una vez que tengamos listas las alcachofas, trituramos todo con la batidora y pasamos por el chino, para asegurarnos de que no queda ninguna hebra y así conseguir una crema muy fina.
Corregimos el punto de sal y reservamos.
A continuación preparamos los chips de jamón, que haremos en el microondas.
Para ello cubrimos un plato con papel de cocina, disponemos sobre él las lonchas de jamón, sin amontonar unas sobre otras, cubrimos con más papel de cocina y otro plato por encima para que haga peso, y llevamos al microondas.
Programamos a máxima potencia unos 30 segundos. Lo normal es que no estén todavía lo suficientemente secas, por ello volvemos a programar otros 30 segundos y comprobamos el punto. Tienen que quedar secas pero no muy duras. Si fuese necesario podemos ponerlas otros 20 segundos pero con cuidado de que no se quemen, que lo hacen con facilidad.
Una vez que tengamos los chips de jamón listos, los troceamos al tamaño que más nos guste.
Servimos la crema con los chips de jamón y un chorrito de aceite de oliva

Notas:
Si cocemos las alcachofas en cazuela tradicional se evaporará algo de agua y es probable que tengamos que añadir algo más de agua para corregir el espesor de la crema.
